Since I work with a number of couples who are struggling with relationship issues, I found myself seeking more information as to how to help. I located a course that provides a structure for addressing issues of infidelity and how to improve the communication, trust and dynamics in these relationships in order to preserve them. The information gives a strong base to work from and skill building work in exploring the sources of the triggers to these behaviors as well as methods for re-stabilizing the couple's dynamics.
While the focus of the course had to do with situations where there has been infidelity, the format can be utilized around a number of issues, particularly where it addresses trust and communication.
Recently I utilized some of the information in a session with a couple and we were all pleased with the discussion that ensued and the improvements noted in their communication due to this.
Upon completing the course, I felt very excited about this approach and could see how useful it can be. With the positive experience I had with the one couple, I am looking forward to the opportunity to implement this further in my practice.
